Internships enable students to take the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom and translate them into practical real work experience. Through Study Abroad, students travel to such diverse countries as Botswana, Australia, England, and the Dominican Republic. Service Learning takes students to Baltimore City to tutor and mentor as well as to New Orleans to build homes, or Haiti to work in health clinics. Campus based research allows students to study the impact of enzymes on diabetes or voting patterns of different age groups. One credit options, which are one credit learning opportunities attached to a three credit course, enable professors and students to research, through trips. interviews, and surveys such diverse topics as the demise of the American Stock Exchange or the wonders of a Utah desert in summer.
